A New Commitment for 2013

I am Katie Leigh Dill.  Teacher, musician and photographer, I think.

For the past several years, I have been shooting with a Pentax K1000 35 mm camera.  In addition to this, I went through a phase where I was really into LOMO (toy) cameras and I experimented a lot with extended and double/triple exposures, low ISO film, and square/half-frame images.  Some people working behind the photo counter at CVS and other places probably looked at those pictures and thought, “Well those didn’t turn out so great.”  I never thought that of my photos; I only saw beautiful, over exposed, creatively cut-off images.  I’ve also had just about every kind of point and shoot camera there is known to man…I rarely use the little one I have now because I have a smart phone that can do that!

I’ve never considered myself as a professional by any means, but looking through the lens inspires me to seek out all of the small and beautiful things in the world.  I’m self-taught and looking to make this into something that’s a little more than a hobby that I love.  If you are interested in seeing some of my work, please return to this page soon!
